Summary
An oval/lozenge shaped feature was identified on the Stoke shoal in a chart from 1802 of the Medway and Thames. The fact that this feature appeared to be divided into four parts has led to the interpretation that these were Saltpans.

Lozenge shaped feature shown on Stoke Shoal on a chart of 1802 (1). Feature is subdivided into 4 sections. It will have been extent enough in 1802 to have been visable form the river. Possible saltpans ?
