Monument record TQ 87 NE 1009 - Saltings enclosure by Yantlett Creek, Allhallows
Summary
An enclosure by Yantlett Creek is marked on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map (c.1858-1872). This enclosure is marked on the 2nd and 3rd edition maps as a 'Saltings'. The southern wall of the embankment is still visible, whilst the rest has eroded into the foreshore. Several piles and stakes are visible; probably the remains of a former seawall belonging to the enclosure. Identified during an assessment of the north Kent coast by Wessex Archaoelogy in 2005.
