Summary
An Iron Age/Romano-British phase of occupation was found at a multi period site at Minster Pumping station. A number of ditch features were discovered and these were dated on the basis of the pottery removed from the fill of these features.

Full Description
Multi period occupation site revealed prior to construction of Minster Pumping Station in 1993. Some nine phases identified including an IA (poss transitional late BA) farmstead and late IA- RB settlement suggested by ditches and pottery. An area of mid-late Saxon metalling was interpreted as poss relating to the original abbey. Md and early PM activity on the site represented by postholes. (1)
