Full Description
Surface debris indicates a Roman building, poss. mausoleum or temple, dating from C1-3, found in 1996. Features many pale "Eccles" (London, C1-2) roof tiles. Three varieties of imported Roman brick and tile found. Additional references (1,2).
In 2020, a second geophysical survey was completed, which revealed a wider area of probably Roman period associated settlement and a possible late prehistoric enclosure. (3)
