The evaluation produced a total of 101 animal bone fragments of which 27% were identified to species and anatomical parts. The bones were in good state of preservation although there was a relatively high number of unidentifiable small fragments from context 1120. Ribs and vertebrae were not identified to species. Most of the bones showed a degree of waterlogging and rolling giving a very smooth surface to the bone and therefore significantly reducing the appearance of cut marks, althought there was possibly some present on a cow humerus in context 109 and a radius from 1115. Context 109 included unused bones indicating the animals had died at young age and it is likely that bones from this context represent food refuse. Species represented include horse, red deer, roe deer, pig , cow, sheep-goat and fish. [1]
