A colluvial sequence investigated within a largely dry tributary branching off to the south east of the Ebbsfleet valley produced assemblages of residual prehistoric artefacts. Worked flint and rare abraded sherds were recovered from the higher levels of the colluvium. Investigation of the colluvial deposits exposed in the extant sections of the ‘Blue Lake’ quarry suggests that a more complex and complete sequence, including potential early Holocene soil horizon, partially survives within a subsidiary dry valley. The finds included several scrapers, multi platform cores, denticulate, notched, retouched flakes and a single backed knife. (1)
