Monument record MWX43079 - Medieval saltmounds and associated drainage, Wall End Farm

Summary

Three saltmounds of probable medieval date are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photography. Also visible are a network of drainage features which are interpreted as related to the supply of water to the salt processing sites. All features appear to have been plough-levelled on recent aerial photography. It is possible that the saltmounds recorded as TR 26 SW 1 represent the same site as this.
