Full Description

Two WWII Emergency Water Supply (EWS) tanks, located north of Ramsgate Harbour and mapped from military aerial photographs taken in 1941.

Both EWS tanks are rectangular and measure 33m long and 16.5m wide. The second EWS tank is located in St Luke's Recreation Ground, approximately 130m to the SW of the first EWS tank, and measures 45m by 23m.

These features were first visible, and have been mapped from, photographs taken in December 1941 [1]. Photographs taken in April 1946 [2] show that both EWS tanks have been filled in.
