Cropmarks of linear features are visible in fields immediately northwest of Upstreet on 1980s RCHME oblique aerial photographs [1-3].

Two parallel ditches are intermittently visible, the discontinuous visibility appears to be as many sections of the field are not conducive to cropmark production. The southern ditch runs for 87m aligned SW-NE, then makes a sharp right angled turn and runs for a further 60m aligned NW-SE. Only a small portion of the northern ditch is visible and it is possible that the visible segments do not represent a single feature. The northern ditch is visible running parallel to the southern ditch for 10m at the feature's western end. A further length of 64m is visible running parallel to the southern ditch from the bend in its course to its southernmost recorded extent

The partial visibility of these features hampers their interpretation and any southward continuation is obscured by the built-up area of Upstreet. The features may represent either a double-ditched enclosure or an enclosure flanked by a trackway and are presumed to be later prehistoric in date. It is notable that they share the same alignment as the rectilinear enclsoure recorded 40m to the north (MWX43104) and may represent part of the same enclosure system.

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [4].
