Full Description
WWII gun pit on the cliff edge at Court Stairs Park, west of Ramsgate, visible on military aerial photographs.
The gun pit has been incorporated into the corner of an existing L-shaped structure (probable wall) visible on historic mapping from 1938 [1], and looks to be constructed of sandbags. It is U-shaped and around 1m thick.
The feature is first visible on aerial photographs taken in May 1942 [1] and has been removed by April 1946 [2].
