Full Description

Possible WWII gun emplacement, circular in plan and with an internal circular pintle. It is a large feature measuring 14m in diameter and with walls that are around 3m thick. It is located on the eastern side of the River Stour and was first visible and has been mapped from military aerial photographs taken in April 1944 [1]. A hollow area is still visible by January 1946 [2] and the feature is entirely gone by April 1950 [3].
