Full Description

WWII rifle range comprising three rows of six rifle butts that appear in a variation of ditch and bank formations. The rifle range is located on Sandwich Flats and has been mapped from military aerial photographs taken in February 1941 [1] and January 1946 [2]. The range is first visible in February 1941 [1] through to August 1947 [3]. By April 1950 only the butts closest to the water are visible and these remain apparent as earthworks by May 2008 [4-9].
