Monument record MWX43345 - Enclosure, Ash Levels

Summary

A small rectilinear enclosure is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs. The enclosure measures 20m (NE-SW) x 10m (NW-SE) and is defined by a bank flanked by an internal ditch. The function of the enclosure is unclear but it is likely to be agricultural in origin and medieval or post-medieval in date. The features appear to have been plough-levelled by the 1960s as aerial photographs of this date show them as cropmarks.
