Full Description

Ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks on 1940s RAF vertical aerial photographs [1]. Examination of modern aerial photographs indicates that these features have been levelled [2]. The ridges cover an area c.120m (SE-NW) x 55m (NE-SW) and are slightly sinuous in plan, which may indicate medieval or early post-medieval date for the features. A boundary ditch recorded as part of MWX43366 and a field boundary shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map [3] appear to form the northern and southern limits of the ridge and furrow and are likely to be contemporary.
