Full Description

WWII observation posts comprising a trench surrounded by a bank - either associated with the rifle range adjacent or for observing enemy movement in Sandwich Bay. The features are positioned facing out to sea between 40-60m from the coastline, located on the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Links, east of Worth. These features are first visible by and have been mapped from military aerial photographs taken in May 1942 [1]. The trench of the northern feature measures 13.5m long and by September 1946 [2] it has been lengthened to 30m. The southern trench measures 20.5m and maintains this length. The features are no longer visible by June 1980 [3].
