Full Description
Three WWII bomb craters are visible in alignment in the Lydden Valley, NW of Deal. The three sub-circular craters measure 4.5m, 6m and 7.8m long. Upcast is only visible around all the craters. The features were first visible in February 1946 [1] and have been mapped from this series of military aerial photographs. The northern (smallest) crater is no longer visible by April 1950 [2] whereas the other two are gone by August 2003 [3].
