WWII earthworks of unknown function visible in 1946, not observed on aerial photography in 1942 and located near St Margaret’s at Cliffe. The site was comprised of three enclosing banks with a ditch running alongside. It was no longer visible in 2007.

Full Description

WWII earthworks of unknown function visible on aerial photography taken in 1946 [1, 2], not observed on aerial photography in 1942 [3] and located near St Margaret’s at Cliffe. The site was comprised of three enclosing banks with a ditch running alongside. The site was 120m x 25m in total and may represent foundations. The site was no longer visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [4], when it was in use as an arable field.
