Full Description

WWII military complex visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941, 1942 and 1945 [1, 2, 3 and 4] and located in Dover. The site was 700m x 100m and runs SW-NE. The SW half of the complex was still visible as standing buildings in 1945, but the NE half had been removed by this time and was visible only as foundations. Indeed, the NE area appeared to be partially removed as early as the 1941 aerial photography. The site appeared to still be in use on aerial photography taken in 1953 [5]. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [6] showed the site to be under grassland, no buildings remain standing, but parchmarks were clearly visible of all mapped features, excepting banks.
