Full Description
WWII slit trenches visible on aerial photography taken in 1941 and 1945 [1 and 2], located in Dover. Ten crenulated trenches with flanking banks were visible, along with seven banks. The site measured 460m x 100m. Some trenches were still visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [3].
These trenches were located N of the Langdon coast artillery searchlight battery (MKe17261) and W of Fan Bay Battery (Mke41970). They cut across a length of barbed wire (MWX43562) and a WWI firing range (MWX43563). Additional slit trenches were seen to the N (MWX43580) and W (MWX43579).
