Possible military site dating to WWII visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 and 1945 [1 and 2], located in Dover.

The site was comprised of a complex of seven buildings with twelve associated small structures. The area spanned 80m x 45m in total. The seven buildings ranged between 15m and 2.5m in length, and 5.5m and 1.5m in width. Only five of these were mapped, as two appeared on 1938 historic mapping [3]. The associated structures were visible in two fields. Three structures were arranged in a line running NE-SW across the corner of the westernmost field. In the same field lay four structures arranged in a linear fashion along the hedge; each of these had an attached structure, which was mapped as an extent of area to preserve the distinction between the two structures. In the eastern field were five structures laid in a random manner in the centre of the field. These were slightly larger than the structures in the previous field and four of these had patches of wear in the ground around them, which were mapped as extents of area.

The site lay alongside an area which had been converted to wartime allotments, thus it is also possible that it was functionally related to these. One of the structures is visible on OS mastermap, but none of the buildings were seen to be standing on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [4]; the area had not been developed by this time, so some features may remain that cannot be seen from aerial photography.
