Full Description
WWII roadblock visible on aerial photography taken in 1942 and 1945 [1 and 2], located in Dover. This feature appeared to be comprised of anti-tank cubes just under 1m square, most of which were seen to be absent on the 1945 photography. These cubes appeared in lines either four or five deep. The block spanned an area 80m x 10m containing two railway tracks and two roads. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3] showed the site to have been removed and redeveloped.
The roadblock lay 2m N of a WWII type 22 pillbox (MKE16971), 140m ESE of another roadblock (MWX43616) and 170m of another roadblock (MWX43617).
A transcription of the feature recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
