WWII possible gun emplacement visible in 1942 and 1946, located in Walmer. The feature was a circular externally banked ditch. The 1946 photography showed the feature to be more degraded than on the 1942 photographs. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 showed the feature to be absent.

Full Description

WWII possible gun emplacement visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and 1946 [1 and 2], located in Walmer. The feature was a circular externally banked ditch measuring 7.5m at maximum diameter, with banking between 2m and 3m wide. The 1946 photography showed the feature to be more degraded than on the 1942 photographs. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3] showed the feature to be absent.

The feature lay 19m W of a WWII line of barbed wire (MWX43668), 54m NW of a WWII military site (MWX43669) and 65m SE of a WWII site (MWX43666).
