Summary

WWII bank of unknown function visible in 1942, located in Walmer. The bank ran NNW-SSE roughly parallel with the W field boundary of the field it lay within. This feature was no longer visible in 1946. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 showed the site to be absent.

Full Description

WWII bank of unknown function visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 [1], located in Walmer. The bank was 1.5m wide and 140m long, it ran NNW-SSE roughly parallel with the W field boundary of the field it lay within. This feature was no longer visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946 [2]. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3] showed the site to be absent.

A WWII similar bank and ditched feature was located 140m to the E (MWX43682).
