Summary

Banked earthworks, possibly WWII in date, visible in 1945, located in Worth. The site was comprised of eight extant banks. Four banks were curvilinear, one was roughly square with an enclosing bank to the E, S and W, the final two banks were located to the N of the square bank. The function of the banks is unknown. These features were no longer visible in 2003.

Full Description

Banked earthworks, possibly WWII in date, visible on aerial photography taken in 1945 [1], located in Worth. The eight extant banks spanned an area 85 x 60m at maximum dimensions. Four banks were curvilinear, one was roughly square with an enclosing bank to the E, S and W, the final two banks were located to the N of the square bank. The function of the banks is unknown. These features were no longer visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [2].

Located 60m to the S was a former field boundary (MWX43715) and an enclosure (MWX43716).
