Full Description
Banked earthworks, possibly dating to WWII, visible on aerial photography taken in 1945 [1], located in Worth. These seventeen extant banks spanned an area measuring 90 x 15m in the bend of a drain, which may have been a palaeochannel, alongside the Isle of Dogs. The banks formed no specific monument and are of unknown function. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [2] showed no sign of the banks, as the line of the drain had been moved further S and cut the features.
Located 100m to the S was another area of banked earthworks (MWX43711).
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
