Full Description
WWII structure, possibly representing a pillbox, visible on aerial photographs taken 1946 [1], located in Walmer. The feature was an almost square structure with sides 8m long. Aerial photographs taken in 1942 [2] did not show the site, implying it was constructed after this date. Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3] showed the feature to be absent.
The feature lay 100m N of a WWII military site (MWX43633), 50m SSE of a smaller WWII military site (MWX43674) and 90m E of WWII earthworks (MWX43671).
A transcription of the feature recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
