Monument record MWX44046 - Coastguard Station and look out on the site of Lade Fort, Lade

Summary

A Coastguard Station is visible on the Epoch 2, 3 and 4 (1899, 1908 and 1938) editions of the historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping. It is located on the site of Lade Fort and appears to have reused the existing structure. A footpath extends from the coastguard station to the coastline where a look out is positioned. The extent of the station and associated structures was given a monument polygon during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
