Full Description
Great Stone Coastguard Station is visible on Epoch 1 (1877) of the historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping [1], located around 1km inland between Littlestone-on-Sea and Greatstone-on-Sea. It is no longer visible on Epoch 2 (1899) [2], where the New Romney Branch railway line (NMR MON ID 462811) is visible running close to the location of the coastguard station.
The extent of the station and associated structures was given a monument polygon during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
