Monument record MWX51317 - Second World War barbed wire obstruction, Martello Tower No. 2
Summary
A Second World War barbed wire obstruction is visible as a series of structures on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and 1945, though it has been removed on aerial photographs taken in 1959. The site extends over an area which measures 210 metres east-west and 200 metres north-south. The enclosure appears to abut the coast road to the east, and encloses a probable pill box (NMR: 1531794). This site has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP (Component 2).
