Full Description
A Second World War bomb crater is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as a hollow in a field to the west of High Knock, to the south of High Knock Farm. This feature has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project. The bomb crater is centred at TR 0959 2874, and measures approximately seven metres in diameter. It has a two-metre-wide banked rim around the edge of the perfectly circular crater. It is thought this may be a result of upcast soil from the explosion. By the time of the vertical aerial photograph of 2006; no trace of the bomb crater is visible (1-2).
