Full Description
A Second World War bomb crater is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as hollow in a field between Dunkirk End and Marshland Bridge. This feature has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project. The bomb crater is centred at TR 0934 2971, and measures approximately eight metres in diameter. It has a one-metre-wide banked rim around the edge of the perfectly circular crater. It is thought this may be a result of upcast soil from the explosion. By the time of vertical aerial photographs of 2006; the bomb crater is no longer visible in any form (1-2).
