Monument record MWX51357 - Second World War observation post
Summary
A Second World War observation post and associated military buildings are visible as buildings on aerial photographs taken in 1945. The site comprises three observation posts, 7 Nissen huts, probably barracks and two further military buildings. The site is surrounded by barbed wire obstruction. The hard standings have been removed and two observation posts are still extant on aerial photographs taken in 2007, though some of the site is still visible as cropmarks. This site has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP (Component 2). A probably associated domestic site is located 35 metres to the north west (1533047).
