Full Description
Pillbox [shown on German map of defences in East Kent]. Pillbox, which appears to have been destroyed. Rubble on the approximate site may be from the pillbox or be covering its remains. Pillbox [Sector 4]. Cassini ref 619528. On Royal Military Canal E of Hythe. (1) The pillbox referred to above (Source 1) was not visible on aerial photographs viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The pillbox may have been given the wrong National Grid Reference due to its conversion from its Cassini Map Reference or misinterpreted by the Germans on their map. The remains described in Source 1 may be from another later structure. (2)
