Full Description
A continuous section of Second World War beach scaffolding is visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. The scaffolding extends along the beach from the Dymchurch Redoubt in the west (TR 1439 3320) to the West Parade of Hythe in the east (TR 1570 3390) and was part of the anti invasion defences constructed along this coastline. The beach scaffolding was subsequently removed after the war. (1-2)
