Summary

A group of ten possible Second World War bomb craters is visible on aerial photographs as earthworks to the west of the junction between Adie Road and Meeham Road, New Romney. These features were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project.

Full Description

A group of ten possible Second World War bomb craters is visible on aerial photographs as earthworks to the west of the junction between Adie Road and Meeham Road, New Romney. These features were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project. The possible bomb craters are centred at TR 0797 2363, and are visible scattered across an area measuring approximately 127m east to west, and 37m north to south. They are visible on vertical aerial photographs of 1946 and 1959 as extant earthworks. By the time of the aerial photographs of 2007, they are no longer visible in any form (1-3).
