Summary
A linear section of Second World War barbed wire obstruction is visible on aerial photographs, taken in the 1940s. The barbed wire is located along the sandy beach head within the Hythe Firing Ranges (Monument Number 1531850). The barbed wire obstructions were part of the many anti invasion defences constructed along this stretch of coastline. The barbed wire was subsequently removed after the war.
