A possible Second World War bomb crater is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork to the north-west of Adie Road, New Romney. This feature was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East RCZAS NMP project. The possible bomb crater is centred at TR 0787 2353, and measures approximately four metres in diameter. It has a narrow banked rim around the edge of the perfectly circular crater. It is thought this may be a result of the loose shingle characteristic of the ground in this area, which would have been upcast by the explosion. By the time of the next available vertical aerial photograph of 1959, the bomb crater is no longer visible, and appears to have been filled in (1-2).
