Full Description
A possible Second World War pillbox is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The square pillbox is located on the northern bank of the Royal Military Canal to the west of the Seabrook Lodge footbridge at TR 17770 34801. The pillbox appears to have suffered a direct hit from a bomb as the pillbox is not visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942, instead a crater occupies the site. (1-2)
