Full Description

The pillbox is centred at TR 0903 2731, and measures approximately 6-7m across. It is possibly a Type 23 or Type 24 pillbox. It is situated on the seaward side of Dymchurch Road. It appears to be connected to the emergency coastal battery to the east (Monument Number 1485888) by trenches which are visible on the aerial photographs as extant earthworks (Monument Number 1535587). The pillbox is still visible as an extant structure on an oblique aerial photograph of 1947. It appears to have been removed by the time of the vertical aerial photograph of 1983 (1-3).
