Summary
An extensive area of Second World War aircraft obstructions are visible as linear alignment of poles across Burmarsh between Palmarsh, Hythe and Haguelands Farm, Dymchurch. The pole obstructions were visible on historical aerial photographs taken in 1941 and 1942. The purpose of the different arrangements was to break up large areas of flat fields to prevent enemy aircraft landing. The poles were were subsequently removed before or after the end of the war.
