Full Description
Blocks of probable post medieval drainage are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940sand has been mapped as part of South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. The drainage is located north of Dymchurch between TR 1032 3005 and TR 1170 3154. The drainage is defined by straight and narrow ridges and resembles post medieval cultivation, but it is more likely to be related to the drainage of the marsh in the post medieval period as seen on other marshland areas. Modern drainage and cultivation techniques have resulted in these earlier drainage earthworks being plough levelled. (1)
