Full Description
Brick-shuttered type 28A anti-tank emplacement. [Recorder Osborne gives NGR - TR 131321]. Type 28 anti-tank gun emplacement. An observation post has been built on the top looking out to sea. On military land of Hythe ranges. [Recorder, Urquhart, gives NGR - TR 131323]. On the sea front between Dymchurch and Hythe, at the W end of Hythe Range beside Redoubt. (1) The type 28A pillbox referred to above (Source 1) is visible on historical aerial photographs at TR 1302 3224 and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. The pillbox is still visible on recent aerial photographs taken in 2006. (2-3)
