Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Dymchurch, deployed here on 2nd August 1944, and was armed with four mobile 90mm guns. This formed part of the Littlestone Section of American Anti Aircraft Mobile Battalion Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery. The battery was not visible on the available historical aerial photographs.
