This formed part of the Littlestone Section of American Anti Aircraft Mobile Battalion Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery. No features relating to the battery were visible at the given location on the available historic aerial photographs taken in 1946.

Full Description

Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Hythe, deployed here by 2nd August 1944. It was armed with four mobile 90mm guns. This formed part of the Littlestone Section of American Anti Aircraft Mobile Battalion Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery. (1) The Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery referred to above (1) was not visible at the given location on the available historic aerial photographs taken in 1946 viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. This was a mobile unit and likely did not leave any trace on the ground. (2)
