Full Description
Site of Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Hythe, deployed here by 2nd August 1944. It was armed with four 90mm guns. This formed part of the Littlestone Section of American Anti Aircraft Mobile Battalion Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery. (1) The Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery referred to above (1) was not visible on the available aerial photographs taken in 1946 viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. This was a mobile unit and likely did not leave any trace on the ground. (2)
