Full Description
Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Dymchurch. This was armed with 20mm guns, and was manned by 2823 RAF Regiment when it was deployed here on 2nd August 1944. It was also armed with quadruple 40mm guns with MAP Experimental Radar at some time in 1944. It formed part of the Littlestone Section of 43 Anti Aircraft Brigade Light Anti Aircraft Artillery. (1)
The Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery referred to above (Source 1) was not visible on the available historical aerial photographs viewed as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP.
