Full Description
The site of a barge building yard marked on the Ordnance Survey ist edition on. The site was used by Solomon Brice the Medway mud contractor to build barges between 1883 and 1907. The site was also used by Short Bros to build barges and lighters in the 1920s, and was used to build the Sarafand 6 engined seaplane c1930-2, and later for seaplane repair. The part of the site was occupied by C A V after 1948 to 1980s, then cleared for housing.
