Monument record TQ 77 SW 1048 - Waterworks Second World War Home Guard hut, School Lane, Higham

Summary

Second World War timber hut for the Home Guard in a green space next to the waterworks at Higham and on the east side of School Lane. It was rectangular, about 10m x 4m, with a pitched roof. The hut was a local headquarters and an assembly point for patrolling Home Guards,and probably originated in 1940, to be decommissioned in 1944 and removed by about 1960.
