Summary

Upper Mill was an extensive paper-making complex that developed in the late 18th and 19th century around an old watermill, probably a corn mill. The mill closed in 1932 and most of the complex was demolished in the mid-20th century. Some elements survive including the millpond, tail-race and bypass channel, an accommodation or office building and a rag house.
