Monument record TR 23 NW 180 - Early Bronze Age site at Holywell Coombe, west of Sugarloaf Hill, Folkestone
Summary
At Holywell Coombe an early Bronze Age site was discovered that showed evidence of prehistoric farming. Plough marks were found in the buried land surface. Pig and cow bone was found and postholes indicated that enclosures or structures were also present. A few sherds of Neolithic pottery were found but most of the pottery was from the early Bronze Age 'beaker' tradition.
